HAO Chinese Language Centre is a MOE-registered specialist Chinese Tuition Centre based in Singapore, founded by a group of experienced educators and parents.

Our teaching staff includes ex-MOE Chinese teachers, Chinese language educators with Masters and Ph.D. degrees, Chinese curriculum specialists, and effectively bilingual teachers.

We strive to provide excellent Chinese Enrichment programmes for children aged 3 to 16.

Our Secondary School curriculum is aligned with the most recent MOE Chinese syllabus and marking schemes, allowing your child to confidently prepare for Chinese exams and GCE ‘O’ Level.

Han Yu Pin Yin Class

Our Han Yu Pin Yin Programme is a series of only 12 lessons. This course is designed to assist students in: mastering pronunciation, improving Chinese reading, preparing for Primary school, facilitating Chinese input using the Pinyin keyboard.

2R: Read & Recognition (Primary levels)

2R (Read and Recognition) programme aims to support Primary students who are weak in the Chinese language. Students with Paper 2 scores below 60% are strongly advised to enroll in this course in order to re-build the foundation years and be well prepared for their PSLE the next time.

We only accept 6-8 students per class to ensure that each student receives the attention they require.

YES. Children in their early years are considered to be in their prime language acquisition years. Regardless of family background, our unique *ELF method will help every student in developing a solid foundation in the Chinese language.

We offer free trials and assessments to evaluate your child’s level of competence.

Learning a language is a challenging, time-consuming task that requires dedication, perseverance, and hard work. We recommend that parents give their child a term (3 months) and work closely with our professional teachers.

The 2R course is a course designed to help students master their Chinese vocabulary from P1 to their current learning syllabus, stimulate their interest in the Chinese language through story-telling and thematic games, strengthen their reading confidence by using flashcards, sentence and passage reading, and improve their writing accuracy and spelling in order to help with written assessments at school.

 

The 2R course is 1 hour long and the average class size for the 2R course is 6 to 8 students.

 

The Secondary School program is aligned with the most recent MOE Chinese syllabus and marking schemes, allowing students to confidently prepare for Chinese examinations and GCE ‘O’ Level.

The Secondary programme covers syllabus, cloze passage, comprehension, Chinese composition, and Chinese oral and listening.

The Secondary curriculum is developed by a team of highly qualified teachers with decades of educational experience: 

  • Chen laoshi, a Ph.D. student in the Chinese Programme at NTU and has degrees in Chinese Studies from Fudan University Shanghai and National Taiwan Normal University. She has been an editor, copywriter, and translator since 2019 and has won many literary awards since 2013. She has extensive knowledge of the Chinese language and culture and a passion for teaching.
  • Qian laoshi,  a former MOE Secondary school teacher and a researcher with a Master of Arts in Chinese Studies. He has taught Mandarin Chinese courses at various institutions for over a decade, including NUS and NTU. His extensive teaching experience makes him well-equipped to help Primary and Secondary school students excel in their PSLE and ‘O’ Levels.

The class duration is 2 hours, and the average class size is 6 to 8 students.

The Primary School Programme is aligned with the latest MOE Chinese syllabus and school rubric to confidently prepare your child for assessments and PSLE exams. It is academically designed by our ex-MOE Chinese teachers, MOE-registered Chinese instructors and Masters in Chinese studies.

The curriculum covers All-in5, which includes syllabus, comprehension, composition, Chinese oral, and Chinese listening.

The ELF method is a teaching method that enables students to build a strong vocabulary, read and recognize up to 3000 words, understand Chinese Phonetics (Hanyu Pinyin), develop a complete writing foundation, and maximize confidence in public speaking.

The Chinese Enrichment class offered by Hao Chinese Tuition includes various activities such as reading and writing Chinese characters, learning Chinese culture and customs, and engaging in interactive activities to help students develop their Chinese language skills.
